Metabolic Health Coaching

You've tried.
Now let's
actually fix it.

Ember Metabolic is a clinician-led coaching program built on the science of insulin resistance — the root cause most practitioners never address. For anyone serious about changing their metabolic health: whether you want to lose weight, have more energy, or optimize your body before or after a regenerative procedure or surgery.

The work is yours to do. I'll make sure you know exactly what to do — and why.

You're on the list. I'll be in touch before the next cohort opens. — Dr. B

"Your body isn't failing you. It's been working in the wrong conditions."

— Dr. Sanam Bezanson, DC

"I eat well. I exercise. I do everything right. So why does nothing change?"

Because insulin resistance doesn't care about effort. It responds to biology — and until you address the biology, you're fighting your own metabolism. That's what we fix here. For everyone.

Insulin resistance is the root.
Everything else is downstream.

Most weight loss programs address symptoms — calories, macros, exercise volume. Ember goes to the source. When insulin stays chronically elevated, your body can't access its own fat stores no matter what you eat. We fix that first.

Why conventional approaches fail most women

Caloric restriction raises cortisol and lowers thyroid output. High-intensity exercise without metabolic readiness increases inflammation. Standard "healthy eating" advice ignores individual insulin response.

None of this is your fault. You were given tools that don't match the problem. Ember uses a clinical framework — the same one used in my practice — to identify and reverse the metabolic dysfunction at the root of your symptoms.

We track what matters: fasting insulin, glucose response, inflammatory markers, body composition — not just the number on the scale.

"Insulin is the master regulator of metabolism. When we control insulin, we control nearly everything downstream — fat storage, inflammation, energy, and aging."
— Dr. Benjamin Bikman, PhD  ·  Insulin IQ Framework

Regenerative Medicine & Surgical Optimization

Your blood is the drug.
Make it worth injecting.

If you're preparing for PRP, bone marrow aspirate, stem cell therapy, or orthopedic surgery — your metabolic health isn't optional. The quality of what goes into your body, and the environment it heals in, determines whether that procedure works. Insulin resistance compromises both. This is where metabolic coaching becomes clinical necessity, not lifestyle choice.

The biology your surgeon may not have told you

In platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC) procedures, you are the drug manufacturer. The growth factors, platelets, and regenerative cells being concentrated and injected come directly from your blood. If your blood quality is compromised by chronic inflammation, elevated insulin, or poor metabolic function — you are injecting a compromised product.

For surgical patients: insulin resistance is one of the strongest predictors of poor surgical outcomes. It impairs collagen synthesis, delays tissue healing, increases infection risk, prolongs inflammation, and reduces the anabolic signaling needed for recovery. Optimizing your metabolic environment before and after surgery isn't complementary care — it's outcome-critical care.

Ember Metabolic's pre/post procedure track addresses this directly, using the same insulin-focused framework I apply in my clinical practice at Bezanson Health alongside our MLS laser and NeuFit protocols.

Pre-Procedure · 8 Weeks Out

Optimize Before
You Go In

The 8 weeks before your injection or surgery are when metabolic preparation has the highest return. We focus on reducing systemic inflammation, lowering fasting insulin, and building the nutritional foundation that maximizes your regenerative capacity.

  • Fasting insulin and glucose optimization
  • Anti-inflammatory nutrition protocol
  • Targeted supplementation (Vitamin D, Omega-3, Magnesium)
  • Movement protocol that doesn't compromise the target area
  • Blood quality assessment framework
Post-Procedure · Recovery Phase

Protect What
You Just Invested

You spent significant money on a regenerative procedure or surgery. The metabolic environment during recovery determines whether that investment pays off. Chronic insulin elevation after a procedure actively impairs the healing cascade you just paid to trigger.

  • Protein timing and anabolic signaling
  • Inflammation management without blunting healing
  • Glucose control to support tissue repair
  • Collagen synthesis support protocol
  • Return-to-load metabolic readiness markers
For Men

Metabolic Health
Is Not Just a Women's Issue

Insulin resistance affects men as profoundly as women — and it shows up differently. Visceral fat accumulation, low testosterone, reduced muscle recovery, and cardiovascular inflammation are all downstream of the same root cause. The Ember framework addresses male metabolic physiology directly.

  • Testosterone and insulin relationship
  • Visceral fat reduction without muscle loss
  • Metabolic support for athletic recovery
  • Cardiovascular inflammation markers
  • Strength and body composition optimization
The Bezanson Health Connection

Integrated Care
Under One Roof

Ember Metabolic works in direct coordination with Bezanson Health's clinical services. If you're receiving MLS laser therapy or NeuFit neuromuscular re-education alongside a regenerative procedure, your metabolic coaching protocol is designed to amplify — not conflict with — your clinical care plan.

  • Coordinated with your Bezanson Health care plan
  • Laser therapy + metabolic health synergy
  • Vascular bed optimization for better PRP uptake
  • Outcome tracking via DataBiologics framework
  • Physician collaboration on complex cases

Preparing for a regenerative procedure or surgery? Don't wait until after.
The window before your procedure is your highest-leverage opportunity.

12 Weeks. Three phases.
One real result.

Group coaching cohorts of 8–12 women. Structured enough to produce results. Flexible enough to fit a real life. Guided by a doctor — not an influencer.

Phase 01 · Weeks 1–4

Reset

Eliminate the inputs driving insulin elevation. Stabilize blood sugar. Reduce inflammation. Build the metabolic foundation everything else depends on.

  • Insulin-smart nutrition protocol
  • Baseline labs review & interpretation
  • Sleep and stress physiology
  • Weekly group coaching calls
Phase 02 · Weeks 5–8

Rebuild

Introduce metabolic movement, muscle-building strategies, and personalized adjustments based on how your body responded to Phase 1.

  • Targeted movement prescription
  • Metabolic flexibility training
  • Tracking & pattern recognition
  • 1:1 mid-program check-in
Phase 03 · Weeks 9–12

Sustain

Lock in the habits, tools, and knowledge that make this permanent — not a program you do once and undo in six months.

  • Long-term protocol design
  • Reintroduction strategy
  • Lab re-evaluation framework
  • Graduate community access

This program is for you if:

  • You're preparing for or recovering from a regenerative procedure or orthopedic surgery
  • You're ready to do the work and stop looking for shortcuts
  • You want to understand your body, not just follow rules
  • You've tried diets and exercise and the scale still won't move
  • You're experiencing fatigue, brain fog, hormonal disruption, or stubborn body fat
  • You want a clinician in your corner, not a coach with a PDF
  • You thrive with structure, accountability, and clear science behind every decision

This is not for you if:

  • You're looking for a quick fix or magic solution
  • You want to be told exactly what to eat with zero flexibility
  • You're unwilling to track or measure anything
  • You want someone to do the heavy lifting for you
  • You're not ready to examine habits honestly

Built for real women
with real lives.

I'm not here to
sell you a program.
I'm here because this matters.

I'm Dr. Sanam Bezanson — a Doctor of Chiropractic practicing in Leawood, Kansas. My clinical work centers on the intersection of musculoskeletal function and metabolic health, because I've seen firsthand how profoundly insulin resistance affects everything from inflammation and healing to energy and body composition — in both men and women.

Ember Metabolic was built because my patients kept asking the same question: "Why can't I lose weight even when I do everything right?" And my surgical and regenerative medicine patients needed an answer to a different but equally important question: "How do I make sure this procedure actually works?" The answer to both was almost always insulin — and almost no one had talked to them about it.

I built this program around Dr. Benjamin Bikman's Insulin IQ framework — the most clinically rigorous approach to metabolic health I've encountered. I apply it in my practice every day. Now I'm bringing it directly to you.
